OK, this is just about it. Is there any reason left to follow this excuse for an organization? What are we rooting for here? Legacy? This team has now officially been shitty for more years than it has been good. Their "glory days" are starting to look more and more like an anomaly for a team with an otherwise bad history. Maybe Al Davis never was a genius. Perhaps he just got lucky for a relatively short period of time. Hell, if I could be managing general partner for a team for 40+ years, I would have to string together a few good years, just by the nature of statistics and the draft system and NFL parity alone.
Al Davis is ruining his own legacy. It is looking more and more like the Raiders won in the 70s and 80s, not because of Al Davis, but in spite of him.

Clearly Martin spent too much time watching this past Monday Night Football game. That said, he raises a good question...Why? Why do we waste our time on a franchise that inherently over promises and under delivers?
For me the answer is actually quit simple. The options are few and limited. We could easily pick up on the Niner wagon, but candidly, their ownership leaves nothing to be desired either. Their "glory days" are also well in the rearview mirror. And I would bet on further inspection, their lack of inspirational play may be a direct result of poor ownership. Pure speculation my part, but I think you will find I am pretty close on that one.
So that leads us to the bigger question. Do we root for ownership or teams on the field?
Or, do we just root for laundry?
After all, what is the same about the glory days of the Raiders and it's current debacle?
Just Al and the laundry...the uniforms are the same.
So, if we're not rooting for Al (and who could root for Al at this point?), then we must be rooting for laundry.
